The UK has new voter identification laws.

The Prime Minister who introduced the law himself did not have the right identification and was initially turned away at the polling station this week.

At a forthcoming general election, there are likely to be many citizens who won’t be able to vote. Those most affected include those with severely limiting disability, the unemployed and those without educational qualifications.

There is a need for urgent action. In this post, I suggest that introducing the Canadian style ‘vouching’ system could enable half a million people to be able have their say at the next UK Parliamentary election.
